Over the last busy 5 weeks we have had the joy of having Liam Crossman with us at Jansons for a five week summer placement, although studying a non property development course he has taken the five weeks in full swing. Here are his thoughts around his time with us at Jansons:
Currently studying Interior Architecture and Spatial Design at University of Northampton and a large interest within properties and sustainability; I looked at exploring my options post University and had the privelage of joining Jansons. It’s been a crazy five weeks and I have quite literally been thrown in the deep end! With not being a strong swimmer I jumped back in the pool to ensure I could support the team at the annual Jansons cup rowing event. Unfortunately, we didn’t make the final but I enjoyed sitting in as the Cox and shouting at the team to row harder, I think Paul got a bit sick of his name in round one with my choice of wording to shout as the Cox. ‘Pull’.
Walking into Jansons I had the mindset of being a sponge and over the period I have enhanced my skillset working on my own shed proposals and appraisals, architecture site drawings, interior residential layouts and sustainability research delving into the world of B-CORP. The exposure that Jansons has provided into the world of property development and investment has been brilliant and it’s been a very insightful experience. Experiencing property development from a different viewpoint to the one experienced within my University course has really helped showcase how the various teams come together to complete a project.
The team at Jansons have been very welcoming, it’s been good fun getting to know everyone from the team whilst in the office and out of the office, joining them for their summer clay pigeon shoot, Jansons cup rowing event and the sportsaid lunch. As an athlete supported by the TASS programme, funded by sportsaid, I was grateful to join the lunch and see the support sportsaid receives from Jansons.
