And we’re back! This morning we hosted our second clay pigeon shoot of the year (a short 182 days after the first…) at a new location and with a few new guidelines to adhere to with the current situation we face.

With the weather flip flopping between heatwaves and thunderstorms we can count ourselves lucky that only a few drops landed on the heads of the shooters. Starting the day off with tea, coffee, and a delicious bacon butty seemed to fuel the shooters who hit the ground running, seen with Andrew Omand (Chiltern Land) scoring 10/10 on his first stand of the day.

The varying difficulty of the stands provided by E.J. Churchill certainly challenged the shooters, adjusting from the bouncing rabbit stand to a high left-to-right crosser is no easy task but one taken in stride by a number of shooters. The competitor with the highest score of the morning and winner of Top Gun was Bob Shattock (Great Wave Group) with a score of 32/40.

To end the morning, the teams participated in the Flush event. A hectic two minutes with all four team members shooting at targets flying from all directions. The winning team led by Huw Williams (Jansons) of Bob Shattock, David Churchill (Carter Jonas), and Roger Saper (Saper and Co Ltd) scored an impressive 38/50.

A big thank you to all the attendees and E.J. Churchill for hosting. We have a few more clay pigeon shoots in the diary for the end of this year back at our old stomping ground of West London Shooting School but for now please view the pictures from this morning below.
