Not having gazed into a crystal ball when booking our shoots this year, the first one rather worryingly coincided with an almost total eclipse of the sun.
We needn’t have worried. It was very overcast and gloomy when we went out, and got darker as the eclipse progressed. Being very cloudy, we couldn’t actually see the sun but it never got dark enough to halt the shooting and we carried on regardless.
For a nice change, we had two ladies shooting with us, both called Karen. This made betting on who was going to win the lady’s prize quite easy, everyone guessed Karen would win, and she did. Here is Howie (Karen Howard) in action, trying for a rabbit clay.
Andy’s bid for world domination was slightly thwarted by the no show of Robert Hibberdine, a previous Top Gun. His other Top Gun team member, Giles Hastings, did make it and Andy co-opted the other Karen, Thomas, onto his team. Here is Giles in action, with Karen wondering ‘How does he do that?’. He is very very good.
Shooting done, it was into the clubhouse for breakfast and prizes. Howie was pleased with her reward of a half bottle of champagne for her morning’s efforts.
Giles, unsurprisingly, won the Top Gun award again and, even less surprisingly, Andy’s team won the team event. Champagne all round and time for breakfast.
